"Whoa," I say as the scooter barely misses me. "Don't worry about it," I tell the person who was riding it, as I turn back to the candle store to watch the group inside, not realizing this person was the same as them.

"Uh huh," I say, giving him a closer look. "Hey, sorry to bug you again, but are you possibly.....spying?" I laugh a little. I was curious about this guy, so I acted like I didn't know them, either. "I know that's kinda nosy, but do you know those people? Cause' they might notice you staring at them."

"No I don't... uh, know them technically, but they seem very familiar," I say as I glance at the person. "Come to think of it so do you," I say taking a closer look. "I'm Nick," I say,"Wylder."

My face has an expression of deep thought as I ponder this name. "No, doesn't ring a bell!" I say brightly.

Arty? I call out to Smarts, noticing her talking to some weird guy. I wheel my scooter over to her, and nod to the guy. Whats up?

"Hey," I say to the first kids friend. "I didn't mean familiar like we'd met, more like we're similar," I say.

"Uh huh," I say, giving him a weird look. "Sorry, but I'm not seeing the likeness." The wheels in my brain are turning, though. Maybe this guy was a Fallen. Maybe he just fell. I continue to grasp onto any form of conversation so that I at least seem normal. "Well, like she said," I jerk my thumb in Diggs' direction, "I'm Arty. I go to Griffin, maybe you've seen me around. I'm the one that's always in the principal's office." I wink at him, tucking a long strand of blue hair behind my ear. Then I focus in on something behind him. "[expletive]," I say bluntly. "Gert, we'd better hightail it. Security's on our trail."

"Yeah, I've never actually gone to school, so I doubt I saw you there," I say a little sarcastic. "I don't think I've learned anything except motorcycles since I fell," I say not really thinking about it, as I turn back to the candle shop.

At first I didn't realize anything unusual about what the guy had said, but then I thought again. "Wait, did he just say since I fell?" I muttered softly to Diggs.

"Well, see you around!" I wave, then jump back on my scooter. I lean forward and take off, whizzing in between people. By now the guards are chasing me, so I take a hard left and shoot off down another stretch of stores.

Maybe. I say shrugging, thinking the guy would meet up with Cori and then she could figure him out. I push off fromt he ground, and speed off with my scooter. I see Smarts shoot off in one direction, and take a different route. I fly past a few small resturants, and a clothing store.

"See ya," I say as I look back towards the candle store. "Good job Matt, you've gone from talking to stalking. Your really moving up huh," I say to myself sarcastically. "Screw this," I say as I walk into the candle store and stand on the other side of the shelves.

I had noticed Diggs and Smarts talking to some guy, and he had just entered the candle shoppe. I slowly make my way over to him, pretending to be checking out candles. Finally I have sidled up next to him. I pick up a black berry candle, and pop the lid of sniffing it. You have been following us. I say, not as a question as I put the candle back on the shelf and turn to face him.

I stride purposefully down a stretch of stores, still extremely cautious about having this shadow with us. What I really hated was when people pushed themselves where they weren't welcome. It was one thing if I welcomed them, but....I glance up at see Smarts go flying past on a scooter of all things, hair streaming out behind her. It takes me a moment to register. "Rocket?" I ask. "Did you just see that?" I look up ahead of us and see the rest of the gang, in a candle shop of all things. I resist the urge to smack myself.

I follow the red haired girl's gaze and see several Fallen, it was obvious that they were by the protective way she was looking at them. And then my heart stops, and my breath catches in my throat. Because it was her. Speeding away in the other direction on another scooter. Then my spirits plummeted. We would have to act like we didn't know each other. If only there was another way.....I clear my throat. Well here goes nothing, I think, fixing an incredibly bored expression onto my face. "I'd better go," I say, rolling my eyes to the vaulted ceiling. "I have better things to do." I wave and start walking in the other direction. I knew this mall well enough to know that if she continued to go in the same direction, she would eventually come out at the food court. And I also knew that by cutting through a bridal shop, it would get me to the court as well. Once I have turned the corner I hurry into the bridal shop. The lady behind the counter raises an eyebrow as I pass. Finally I escape the frou frou and walk casually, taking a seat at an empty table and waiting for her.

I'm stuck in a candle shop this stinks worse then Claire's but I will never tell that to the others because I work there! I nod at Cori hopping she knew what I meant because I sure didn't. I look at side real quick and think I see Diggs darting down the hallway looking like she was headed to the food place.

Diggs, Smarts, and I rounded the courner to the food court. Uh Oh. "Creepy shadow dude ahead" I growled. Couldnt they just leave us alone and let us have some fun! No, of course they couldn't.
I was startled by Dev's abrupt departure. He had seemed so eager to stay with us. I decided to follow him. When no one was looking, I ducked out of the candle shop. I walked as casually as I could behind Dev, without letting him see me as he went into a bridal shop. "What the heck?" I thought. "What would he need in here?" I continued to follow until he exited the shop and sat dowm in the food court as if waiting for someone. Then Diggs, Smarts, and Olive rounded the corner. It looked as if he was waiting for them. They wouldn't betray us would they? They weren't on his side? my heart quickened and I ducked behind a counter to see how this all played out.

I glanced at the girl next to me. "Yes I have. What of it?" I ask like it's not a big deal. "Am I bothering you?"

Huh? I said turning to look at Roxy, who obviously was hallucinating.

No, I'm not peeved. Curious perhaps. I say grinning softly at him. What would be so interesting in us? I ask waving my arm around the shop to show I was talking about my posse.

Oh dear. Suddenly, my brilliant plan to split and make it harder for the angry mall cops to catch us was shattered. Smarts and Olive pull up next to me, and so what we could always break apart again, until I see him. Sitting there in his leather jacket, waiting. Oh no. I clench onto the handle of the scooter tighter making my knuckles go white. Maybe they hadn't noticed him. Until Olive says she saw him. Great. I got him guys, he looks young and weak. Split up, and meet up later. At um... some where. I say momentarly tongue tied.

"NO! we can't leave you alone" I said, but Diggs had that determined look on her face.

I think about the question and decide to be direct. "Are you Fallen?" I ask seriously.

I look at him suspiciously. You're lucky I am. Other wise you might be sent to an insane asylum. I'm Cori. I'll introduce you to everyone else. I say leading him to the rest of our group.

Ella, I got it. I'm not a baby. I tell her wishing they would just leave already, and let my talk to Dev.

I let out a sigh of relief as I follow her. "I was starting to think I'd never find any others," I say relieved.

No matter how weird you are, there are always others weirder. I assure him.
