I snort. "Uh huh-" I start to say doubtfully, but then get a good look at the girl. She definitely had the "starry" eyes as I liked to call them. I put on a wise face. "Perhaps," I say loftily.

“Well, I guess you all are leaving I’ll do that too” I say just as my whole world gets cold I ache to scream but I can’t.

I looked shocked at Smarts sudden intrest; but who can blame her, we all want to be the one to find the newest fallen. We can all go, get like an icecream. I suggest wanting to have more time to examine the new girl.

Icecream, yum. I mutter under my breath a few steps ahead of everyone, the smile returning to my face.

Zee, cashier. I say above a harsh whisper frusterated she hadn't looked at the skinny pale girl yet. I moved around the toy store, looking at a vew GI-Joes. Dang, I would have loved to have one of these guys when I was a little kid.[/center]

I look up slowly. "Good, but no. I'm pretty sure she just has dark brown eyes."

"Sometimes ice cream doesn't taste good. But in this horrible place I think we need it." Once again I grab Cori and tow her toward the door. "Are you coming or what?" I call back to the girl.

I walk into the mall with Callie and Sam behind me. I glanse around and quickly spot the group. "Sorry we're late!" I said walking into a store. I then look up at the sign and see this is Claires. "Are we looking for overly priced pink fluffy things or fallen stars" I muttered under my breath to Diggs.

I run in behind Olive, probably looking like I just saw a ghost. I walk over to Cori and whispered "I just let Olive drive us all the way here. Biggest. Mistake. Ever." I took a deep breath "now remind me why we all have to be here"

I walk in the mall feeling on top of the world. And then Olive and Cal walk into Claires where I'm expected to fallow. Back to the bottom of the world. I walk in, trying to appear cool. This is very hard to do when your the only guy in a room full of sparkles and pink.Then I saw her. She was talking to everybody else and had a smiling, beautiful face. As I approached them I leaned to my sister and nonchalantly asked, "Just outta curiosity, is she a star?"

"Come on, we're gonna get ice cream," I tell my brother, who suddenly appears next to me. I stare at him for a moment, and my face breaks out into a teasing smile. "Ahh, Sammy's got a crush! Sammy's in lurve!"

"Coming" I say I look at the new boy "what your name I'm Lexus". I began to walk out of the store ignoring his answer.

I turned to my sister, my face bright red. "Shut up I do not!" I said under my breath. I turned to Lexus to make sure she didn't hear and to introduce myself but she was walking away. "Wait!" I called after her and running to catch up with her "Im Sam"

"I don't know about you people but I'm getting ice-cream" I announced as I walked through the door. "Rock road heaven here I come!"

I'm getting a large, vanilla and chocolate swirl with sprinkles. I say happily to myself, my sugar lovin' side taking over and I stopped being so uptight. I think a few of them were ready, but it was only the start of the day. Lexus, you wanna join our posse? We're just shopping most of the day. I tell the girl, smiling goofily at her. It would be good to keep an eye on her. I turn to Callie. Hey Sara Yeah, Ella... not the best choice for a chauffear. I reply, shaking my head laughing; gosh that would be great to see Olive manuver a car. Ella, Sara, and Jonathan, thanks for finally joining us. Ella, your crew is here so you can stay in my group. Sara I want you to go with ZeeBee; I think they are in the Toy Store with Shine. Jon, your sis is here wanna stay or leave? I ask Sam using their alias' in front of the new girl. Boy, Olive was not what I needed but I knew she wouln't wanna be separated from Diggs and Smarts. They were like the rebel crew.

No, look harder. I insist to Roxy. I wanted to be right; I wanted her to be wrong. I was older, I should be in charge. A feeling of anger and resentment suddenly came over me, and I became envious. I was the oldest fallen. Maybe not the most mature, or the most dedicated. But still I was oldest, and don't they always say oldest gets to be in charge? I glare at Roxy's back. Get yourself together Rocket. I think. I could handle that she was better than me, I could... totally not handle this. I needed a way to vent. I take a book from the shelf and flip through the pages fast a few times. Nope that sure wasn't doing anything. What was wrong with me, Roxy and Cori had always been in charge, what was different. I sit down on a big poofy bean bag in the corner of the Toy Store, and lean into my hands.

Hey Ol-Ella. I say happy the third wheel to our tricycle had arrived. I stuff my hands in my pocket, and walk behind the rest of the group. This was totally pointless. So what we had found a new girl, what ever. She was one person, how many others could there be. All this is running through my head as I eye a cart that got deserted out side of Walmart. If I could just get to it with out Cori noticing... I think suddenly becoming excited at the prospect of riding a cart around.

I see Diggs eyeing the cart outside. "Lets do it!" I whispered to her. "Wait, after we get ice-cream 'cause I had my heart set on that rocky road.

I inwardly criticized myself. I had totally forgotten the aliases. Some day Our cover was going to be blown and it would be all my fault. I calmed myself down and focussed on the mission ahead. Find stars.

"You just tell yourself that you aren't in luuurve." I smile again wickedly, then walk away to join Diggs and Olive. "So, what are we going to do now? Find three of those little things that the mall cops buzz around on and have a totally awesome time?"

"Okay, fine," I tell Rocket, a little wary of the way he was acting. "I'll take a closer look." I drift up to the cashier and smile at her. "Excuse me, can you tell me if there are any special sales on any toys?" I pull out my phone while she looks in her computer and text Cori. Everything going all right with you? I type and hit send.

The bell chimes at the front of the store. I quietly put the doll down and peer at the front. "Rocket," I start to grab Rocket's sleeve desperately. "There's a guy-"

"Hey guys, what's up?" I cross my arms and smile at Rocket, but it doesn't reach my eyes. "And whose this pretty little girl? Aren't you going to introduce me?" I smile again, charmingly.

I walk into the Timothy's Toy store and see Roxy, Junie, and Rocket. Then a suspicious looking kid walks in. I was about to point him out to everybody else when he talks to Rocket. They obviously new eachother. I went to stand by him. "Who is this? What is going on?" I hissed under my breath

"Oh my goodness that would be totally awesome!" I said to Smarts "But I'm serious! Before we do anything fun we have to look at more important matters! like ice-cream!"

I chuckle. I'll scope out the electric scooters, you all go and gorge. Get fat for all I care. I'm looking on losing a little pudge myself. I say grinning, and patting my belly, sticking it out. It was great to have friends that you could make light fat jokes about and they wouldn't get in a hissy fit about it. Hey Annie, I'm going to the ladies room to powder my nose. I say snorting, and walking off.

Yeah ok whatever. Diggs could handle herself, I just hoped she wouldn't do anything stupid. I pull out a thick wad of cash from my back pocket. It's on me. I tell everyone cheerfully. Everyone, whats your order. Try to tell me you want, but try not to yell all at once. I demand, hoping I would have enough money. If I didn't, Olive could bail me out...since she wanted the icecream so badly.

This is Shine, she's my friend. I tell Dev, forgetting my feelings toward Roxy, and immediatly glad she was at my back. I survey the area for anything that could be used as a weapon, but try not to let Devoid see my eyes searching.

I shake my head at Olive. "Sorry girl, you can gorge yourself on ice cream, but there is no way that stuff is going in this body." I point at myself. "I'm in the middle of training, running, and am in too peak of condition to taint my entire system with a congesting dairy product."

"Pleased to meet you, er, Shine." My smile is playful. "And who is the young lady that just hissed in your ear and is obviously confused about something?" I smile at the girl, then look at Rocket pointedly.

"Hi," I say, noticing Rocket's tense posture next to me. "It's really nice and good to meet you. I was looking at the dolls. Aren't they pretty? This one's my favorite. She has a pink dress with a petticoat and look, her bonnet comes off. She has really pretty black hair, it's all wavy and long. My hair is a rat's nest, it's really curly and impossible to brush. I get frustrated a lot; trying to brush it," I pause for breath. "Which one is your favorite? I like the one with the blond hair too, she has really long eyelashes, 'cept they're not real eyelashes, of course. They're just plastic..." I stroke her porcelain face absentmindedly. "She isn't wearing a dress. She is wearing a skirt. But you're a boy, so you wouldn't understand the difference," I giggle. "I really like the teddy bears, too. 'Cept some of them aren't smiling, 'cause they've been sitting on the shelf for so long. I would get sad, too, if I had to sit on a shelf forever. It would be scary, I think." I look back and forth between the two boys. "Boys are silly," I add for no reason.

I make my way back to where Rocket was. "So, she wasn't one..." I trail off when I see one of Them. I immediately tense, then force myself to relax. "Hey, Rocket," I smile tightly. "This is a friend of yours?"

And this was why I should be in charge. Even though Dev already knew my name, alias' were still important. I groan to myself poutily. Yeah, she's new. I say to Dev, blankly with out expression in my voice. I lean in and whisper in his ear. Don't try anything with the kid. The others, they can fight. She is just looking at dolls and doesn't need to be scarred for life because you had to go and talk to her, and stick your ugly face in her personal space! I mutter to him, and pull back grinning a toothpaste ad grin. I though my rhyme was pretty great too. Too bad the cashier wasn't one, but who cared.

I find a back door with a 'Specialized Personnel Only Past This Point' sign. Jackpot. I think, and grab the handle. Of course it wouldn't be unlocked, that would be too easy. I snarl, and walk back out to the group nonchalantly. I needed a bobby pin. I pull Olive and Smarts aside. Guys, bobby pins? I ask knowing they would know exactally what I was talking about when a bystander would be totally lost.

I feel my phone buzz against my leg, and pull out my cell phone. I tap in my answer; Yeah, we are good. Maya found one. 12 maybe? Okay, whose ordering what? I demand looking up, and tapping my foot. I notice Smarts and Olive and Diggs chatting in undertones in the back of the group. Uh-oh. Did we need to have a "talk?" I really hoped not. Just for once couldn't they behave?

I was walking through the mall when I noticed a group of kids. They just looked like normal teenagers, but there was something that seemed familiar about them. "Are they Fallen too?" I asked myself. I decided to watch them and see where they went.

My pocket buzzes. I glance down, then back up at Rocket and Dev. I keep my face smooth and careless. It was pretty obvious they knew each other. Rocket's name had come flying out of my mouth, but now that I thought about it, it was a pretty smart move. So this shadow most likely knows Rocket's name, right? So then if I said his alias the shadow will get confused because he knew Rocket's real name, and then eventually suspect that all Fallen had alias', which would be bad because they would be able to find us easier. Maybe I was thinking too much about it and should have just spit the freaking alias out and watched what would happen. I sigh to myself and grab my phone, glancing at the screen and quickly hitting reply. Nice!!! We have company here ourselves, but not exactly the company we need. Get to the other side of the mall from Timothy's Toy Store asap with the newbie.

I arched an eyebrow. "So there's more? Please, I'm just here to shop, same as you. We all need to shop for our younger rellies sometimes, eh?" The last part came out more like a snarl.

I cough daintily. "Cori, looking this way," I hiss out of the side of my mouth. "Diggs, you idiot. Bring your own bobby pins next time you decide to have a bad hair day! I always tell you to keep you hair back." I dig around in my pocket, smiling widely. I find one of them and tuck it in her hair. "There you go, here's a scrunchy, too, and some clips. You can fix the rest of your hair in the bathroom. Shoo," I give her a very squeal-y girlfriend-like hug. My voice drops down. "I just put something in your back pocket." I wink, turning around and heading back to the group.

}The items that Smarts just put in Diggs' back pocket are as follows: nail, pebble, piece of gum, and a rubber band sling shot. Have fun with them, hee hee.

Right away. I tap into my keyboard on my phone, and press the send button. I hoped they could handle what ever was going on. Okay guys, I'm just gonna get us all vanilla. 'Cept for Ella, you wanted Rocky Road? I ask her, flipping through a few crumpled bills. I go to the counter, and order, remembering my special cone with sprinkles. I hand them out. Lets move to the nice shoe store over that way. I say gesturing to the other side of the mall.

I feel like a total doob standing there, and have an awkward moment. Yeah, I'll remember to keep my, er, own bobby pins with me. I say, and scurry off, reaching in my back pocket and pulling out a few odd items. Oh boy. I stuff the gum in my mouth, and get it nice and sticky. It could come in handy in case I needed to stick things together, plus it tasted minty fresh. Nail, pebble, rubber band sling shot. Gosh, why the heck did she just randomly have this in her pocket; I made a mental note to carry some of these things with me more often.

"They don't seem to be doing much," I told myself as I moved closer. "I wonder, if they are Fallen will they notice me if I get to close?" I asked myself. I moved until I was only a few feet away from them and started using reflections in mirrors or people's glasses to keep track of them.

I spot a boy, creeping closer to us. He looked shiny. I snort at the notion. Shiny. Ha. I lick my icecream cone contentedly, and watch the guy from the corner of my eye. He wasn't half bad looking. I find myself thinking, and quickly jolt myself out of thinking that. Kumara, what do you think about him? I ask her, looking in the guys direction.

I lick my ice-cream smiling. "Finally" I muttered. Then I noted the exchange taking place between Diggs and Smarts. This outta be good.

Who was this guy? He was good at reading people, I have to be careful. I made my face smooth and expressionless as I appraised him.
