Kal, I say already adopting an annoying nick name. You probably should get some rest too, There's another chair in that room. I say gesturing to the door where I lead Roxy. Or you can stay in the guest cell. I said as an after thought.

I sigh and let my sister drag me into the other room. I let a few weak protests just to keep my dignity, and then collapse into a chair, my eyes closing. I knew at the back of my mind that there was still some poison in my system. Not that I wanted anyone to know that. I let my eyes close and sunk into a deep sleep.

"How do you know?" I ask the other girl bluntly. "Like, do you have special voodoo mind powers or something?"

I grin and the boy from Wocky's lap. "Hi Kaleb! I'm Junie and I'm new too!" I was thrilled I had discovered this.

I smile at the girl who called me "Kal" and replied I don't want to be any trouble. I'll just grab a chair, I guess. As I walk out of the door to sleep, I see a little girl shining brightly with a smile that could melt the glaciers. Hi there, Junie. You're new too? I ask, squatting down to get to her height. She made all of my sadness and pain and tiredness melt away as long as I was with her.

I watch as Junie melts the worries away on Kalebs face. And he squatted down toward her, like a brother would. It made me realize we were all eachother had, we were eachothers family. It was so sweet, it almost made me cry.

As I looked at my family I felt very protective over all of them. I turned to Kaleb "Welcome" I said giving him a warm smile.

"We're both new!" I say excitedly. "Wocky says," I glance up at Rocket admiringly, "That he thinks he knows who my star parent is. But he really isn't for sure, you know? He just thinks he knows, but he is pretty sure. Right, Wocky?" I tug on his shirt. "You know who my parent star is but you don't really?"

I block Kaleb's way, crossing my arms over my chest. "You should have gotten here earlier. Did it ever occur to you we could have used more people?"

Smarts, chill. I tell her, sitting down and finishing my bagel.

I nod, smiling. Yes, I know... I tell her slowly. I was almost jealous of the way Kalebs worries disappered. It made me feel protective over Junie, like I was the only one who got to bask in her light.

"I'm not gonna chill!" I say angrily. "Seriously, did it ever occur to you there might be more people like you? That they might need your help?" I feel hot and angry, and once again my temper was getting the best of me. I push my damp blue hair out of my eyes, leaning down to tie the lace on my shoes.

I put my hand on my sisters shoulder. A gentle touch that said calm down, we will get through this.

I stand behind Kaleb and say, “did it ever occur to you that were all working as hard as we can it's not his fault.” I look at Junie and think of her smile and Kaleb and his forgetfulness and Roxy and Cori then I smile at Smarts and say, “were going to get thought this were family now what’s the worst that can happen”

I suddenly imagine a bunch of overpowering Shadows busting in. Well theres always the chance that we could all be traitors, and soon the Them will be planning a mongo attack to destroy us and take all the light in the world and the all the normal humans will parish and curse the stars for not being luck and granting their stupid wishes. Oh and theres the fact that the Po-Po are probably after a bunch of us for being juvenile delquites. But other than that your right, nothing bad is gonna happen. I resist the urge to yell all that out. Calm down. Okay Smarts? I say sharply. Maybe he didnt know, okay? Half of the newly fallen dont know their duty, and if they did they would never fall so just be thankful he is here now. Kal, go. Get some rest, we can have someone show you around later. I say trying to patch up the conflict.

I look at Smarts and let out the remnants of a smile, but the corners of my lips only curled out slightly. It wasn't my choice. I just found out what the heck has been up with my entire life today. I promise that I'll do whatever I can from this day on, though. I'm sorry. Without waiting for any response, I walk through the door and crash on the first chair I could find. It didn't even matter that it was extremely uncomfortable-I fell asleep right away, lightly snoring as I drifted off into a dreamless rest...

I nod. And then I wander off to get some more food, I was like an endless pit. I know that is like one of the lamest similes in history, but there was just not a better way to describe it.
