I smile for a few moments watching the snobby kid dangle in the air. I turn red when he calls Louis a cyclops. Hey, you're family here now. You watch you language. You have no superiority to any of us, which gives us, your new "family" permission to do what ever to you. I warn him, and glare. I walk over, and touch Louis' arm. Let him down. I whisper, knowing he had only hoisted the boy into the air because of me.

Louis gave the kid a hard stare for a few moments before snorting and letting go of him, allowing Gray to fall the rest of the way to the floor. He turned around and busied himself with cleaning up the skillet and his bowl.

I get up, brush off my pants, and examine my laptop bag for damages. "Yeah, we're family now," I reply, imitating her voice. "And I'm sorry, if a new family member arrives, you do not pick them up, laugh at them, and then drop them. You introduce yourself. You are nice. I am so sorry, but I have met other stars, and they are not like this! Maybe I should just go and live with them instead."

That was the last straw. Louis turned from the sink and stared Gray down for a short moment before taking one long stride to where he stood, skillet still clenched in his right hand, and throwing a hard left hook at the kid. His fist met hardly any resistance, and he didn't bother to stay to see what the outcome was. Instead, he just tossed the skillet into the sink with a loud clatter and stormed out of the room.

"This must be the first time anyone has stood up to that idiot," I remarked to Namelass. My face was throbbing, but mostly just my pride was wounded. Didn't these people know who I was? They didn't, and they had no respect for him whatsoever. I quickly covered my feelings and replaced them with a placid expression. "You know what?" I told her. "I'll find my room on my own. No wonder you don't have very many stars, if this is how you welcome them. I'll contact my own star friends and tell them to come pick me up as soon as they can. Tell them that this place is hell, and they will not find anything here." I turned on my heel and strode off the opposite direction that Cyclops did.

I stand there totally still. Couldn't the kid take a joke. Damn, he was touchy. I guess he expected to come in and be welcomed like a king first thing. Well he wasn't and he would have to get used to the fact that just 'cause he was new didn't mean we weren't gonna cut him any slack. I am torn into trying to make him feel better and staying because we did need a good rap, or going after Louis to scold him for his behaviour. Yeah, I guess it wasn't the best welcome we could have given him--actually one of the worst. Why had Louis done that anyway? I needed sugar. Pulling my pants up a bit, I hop onto the counter, and reach my hand into a jar hidden at the very back--my cookie jar. We all had our pleasures, mine was cookies and flavoured coffee, Diggs had her Skittles, and Milky Way stash. I didn't really know about everyone else, but no matter who you are there's something that makes you less than perfect. After brushing away the crumbs, I decide to let new boy chill, and go off to find out what was up with Louis.

By that time Louis was already halfway up into the rafters of the first floor, his usual hideaway. There was an exposed beam that could take his weight and was roomy enough for him to sit on, just out of sight from anyone walking down the hall. The redhead crossed his arms and frowned at the wall. It was usually his policy to not punch people who couldn't really defend themselves, but this kid was just... so much more annoying than anyone else he had ever met. Didn't he know that other people here had their own problems to deal with instead f bowing to his every whim?
