Someone had dragged me down to the transformation room. It would start soon, I knew. I lay on the cot, staring up at the ceiling. At least we were on break, I wouldn't have to worry about missing school. Was I scared? A little bit. Right now I was seeing repeated white flashes behind my eyelids. Where was my sister? She would be feeling the same thing. December 27. December 27. It was soon. I wondered if anyone was worried about me, then scolded myself. I should be concentrating. The door was dead-bolted. I was trapped in this tiny room. I missed my sister. A single tear rolled down my cheek.

I slide a note under the door, and tap my foot. This was our room, but I was late. I hoped she hadn't already started. The slight pain started in my chest, and spread down my legs and arms so my whole body was wrapped in a stinging warmth. Come one Roxy! I mutter, and bang on the door. I could not turn into a fiery mass in the hall, and burn down our home!

"Crap," I groaned. It took a tremendous amount of effort to roll off the cot. I walked to the door and pulled it open. "Quick," I said. "Get inside." I clutched my head, trying to hold myself together. Moaning, I collapsed back onto the cot.

I sit on the bench, and tap my foot. I couldn't sit still. I felt like running 20 miles, and then having a nice lesuirly jog for about 3 hours. I get up, and start to do jumping jacks. Eventually, my head starts to pound, and I lay down. My breathing is inconsistent, and rough as it barges in and out of my throat. I feel my finger tips light up, and hold them up to my face. On fire; no pain. Wow. I felt I needed a cookie for this thinking.

}Oh no! It's the twenty eighth! We're overdue!

The pain is too much. I could fight it longer, but I know I can't forever. My skull feel like it is about to split open, and then there is nothing, only blinding light and thrashing and nothingness.

At the end of the light I see Alkaid. Yes, I am part human, but this is how it is supposed to be. I can feel that now. I am a star. My body feels weightless, in perfect balance with the universe. I focus on my parent star. Then I hear words drifting across my mind, and I know they are coming from Alkaid.

}So, I had an idea. We can each write a message that Alkaid gives each of the twins. So I write a message from Alkaid to Cori, and you write one from her to Roxy.

I slowly close my eyes, and let myself get sucked up into the pain. I allow the fire to envelope me, and just go with it. Soon, I feel no gravitational pull to the ground, and I am just hovering in the air. It is truly amazing.

I see my mother standing in front of me, and hear her words echoing in my head.

}I don't know, anything I guess. I'll go first. Don't mind the dramatics, and I'm going with female for Alkaid, is that good?

and Alkaid speaks to her daughter Cori.

"Coriander, I miss you," she says in a voice that seems very far away but also near at the same time. "I am so proud of you, proud of your bravery and of your adaptability. Be yourself, and you will find what you are seeking. And Cori? Look after your sister, she needs you."

And then she is gone.

%Haha, Alkaid says to Roxy: "You take on too much responsibility. Tell your sister she needs to get off her lazy a** and help out, not just eat sugar!" And then she leaves. Hahaha. Ah.....that makes me laugh....(I'm making Roxy just a bit older than Cori)

Alkaid glimmers a light orange, with a dark red center, and speaks to her eldest daughter. Her voice echos, and soothes Roxy.

"My love, you have gone above and beyond what was required of you. You have protected your sister dearly, and formed a family from strangers. Don't wear yourself thin before you have to conquer the darkness. Soon, more will be coming, and they shall be strong and prevail against the darkness. Your strength shines through in everything you do, keep you light lite..."

Her voice fades, and the light that she once was winks out.

} And Alkaid speaks to Cori: "Dearest, have you been to the gym lately? I know you like sugar, but this is going a little too far."

%Yeah, guys like little love handles, not those honkers. Its like a tire! Haha. (hence the term 'tire' comes into existence.

}It's Australian slang. So there. I'm actually considering making an aussie character because the slang is so cool.

}Well, I just had to do a report on Australia. It was a short story that had to incorporate all these facts about Australia, so I spent all this time learning about the slang. Quite true.
