| I ordered a croissant and a mocha, then made my way back to the table where Rocket was sitting. "Are you getting anything?" I asked him, while my eyes made a quick sweep of the room. | |

| I followed her gaze, and then looked up. Yes. But I was waiting for you, ya know, ladies first. I say mocking politness. I smirk and walk over to the counter. I order a frap, whip cream on top, and a blueberry muffin. I walk back over to her. Lets roll. I tell her, flashing a smile. | |

| "They are getting better at disguising themselves. Your first test: look around this room and find one of Them." I sipped my mocha, looking relaxed and nonchalant, but really I was ready to move at the slightest moment. | |

| I sigh, and sit down across from her. I scan the room, every one looked normal. There was the old man drinking coffee, probably black, and reading the Sunday Funnies. In the corner was the bussiness woman, furiously typing on her slim laptop. Next to us was a small family of four; a mom, dad, and two little girls. One about 10, the other I was guessing was probably 5 or so. In the line, there was a tall construction worker with huge steel toe boots, a short lady with a sharp bob, and a leopard patterned purse, a teenager about our age with a huge back pack slung over his arm, and a sharp bussiness man, with a dark suit and crisp looking tie. They all looked normal, where were They? I don't know, who? I tel her after a while, losing my pride and giving up. | |

| "Look harder," I ordered. "Not all of Them are black clothed and easy to spot." | |

| I growl, and bite my lip, forcing my self to try harder. I do another scan of the room, and take a wild guess. The bussiness woman in the corner, who hasnt touched her coffee since she ordered it. I ask. | |

| "Naw," I take a bite out of the croissant. "I think it's the person working at the counter," I hissed. "You see the dark eyes?" | |

| I slap my forehead, I hadn't even noticed the workers, I was just looking at the customers. I squint and try to get a good glimpse of the girl working the counter, and then, she stares at me. Her dark eyes drill into my soul, sucking away the happiness. She shakes her head, and looks back to the dazed customer. I can't tear my eyes away from her beauty for a few moments, but then I turn to Roxy. MY eyes are glazed over and huge. I blink a few time, to clear my head. Yeah, I see it. I tell her trying to act like I wasnt so deeply affected by her stare. | |

| "Yeah, yeah," I roll my eyes. "No biggie, yeah right. It affects us all." I glance over at the counter. "When she stares at you, picture light everywhere, stars, happiness. It won't affect you." | |

| I nod slowly, storing that tip for future reference. Okay... I say slowly, and steal a glance at the girl one more time. Then looking at my muffin, I feel not so hungry any more. | |

| "It is hard, though," I go on, "Because right when you meet their eyes, you already feel it. It is almost impossible not to feel it, even if it is a small amount. So don't be depressed. It's awful when you are." | |

| I just look down at my coffee, and try to take a sip. The warm tastes cold, and the rich, roasted flavor, taste plain. Lets get out of here. I demand, and stand up, grabbing my cup of coffee, and muffin, keeping in mind all the homeless. | |

| I get up too, grabbing my coat and mocha. "She'll probably try to follow us," I whisper under my breath. "So just be aware." | |

| Gotcha. I whisper out of the side of my mouth, and open the door for her, gentleman like. | |

| I raise my eyebrows slightly when he opens the door. I don't look back at the lady as I walk out, but I can feel her eyes drilling into my back.

| I follow her out, and try to keep the same cool face. I try not to look back at the woman, but my back burns, almost as if her eyes are burning my slowly. I can't resist the temptation; I look back at her dark eyes, and become weak, and naseous. | |
