Workin' Out

Subject: Workin' Out Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:46 pm

I wake up and yawn, rubbing my blue eyes. Grabbing a towel and a water bottle, I pull on a pair of black nike sport pants. I was wearing a dark grey shirt that was too tight, and my muscles bulged out from it. I make my way to the gym, and once I get there, I start lifting.

I appear out of nowhere, leaning on the wall next to where he was standing. I waited for him to notice me. I always got a serious kick out of totally freaking people out when I showed up out of the shadows. I smirked a little bit, picturing the dude jumping and dropping the weight, or something.

I put the weight down, and take a large swig of my water bottle. I notice a dark figure, and tense up. I drop my water bottle, and wrap the towel around my neck. What do you want? I ask him hotly, concentrating on happy thoughts, and light. I had had more practice since the last time we meet.

"Yo," I say, relaxed. "How's life, my man." I smirk slightly, staring him in the eye.

"Doing well," I grin and then my eyes narrow. "So, I was wondering, do you Fallen folks have a Hideout or something?"

My heart thumps, and I am sure he can hear it. I try to make my face a facade, and almost get it there, before I realize that someone must have told him that, and that meant someone wasn't trust worthy. This frightens me even more. I didnt like it. At saturn, I faintly recall, I wasn't scared of anything. Nothing bothered me, and this feeling of fear, and fright, was uncomfortable and new. No, do you? I ask him talking a bit too fast.

Dabbing at her pale pink lipstick in the washroom of the Recreation Centre, Eva pursed her lips and looked at her reflection in the wide mirror doubtfully. There was nobody else in the room, she had taken advantage of this to spend at least an hour there. It was her first time wearing make-up, it seemed a little... how would she describe it - awkward. It didn't make her feel pretty, quite the opposite actually. Who was she trying to impress anyways?

Cheeks flushed with embarrassment from wearing such a thing, Eva's almond shaped blue-grey eyes blinked and she winced at how noticeable the simple thing seemed to be. All the make-up, though she hadn't worn that much of it, seemed to light up her face and bring out her features. It made her uncomfortable. Eva preferred not to stand out in a crowd. Standing out meant having people stare at you, and having people stare at you didn't sound so great to her. Heaving a soft, feminine sigh - it was nearly impossible for anything of Eva's to be masculine - Eva frowned at herself, checked her appearance once more, and headed out of the washroom.

It would have been much to her delight if she hadn't met anyone, but of course, such things never worked out to her fancy. "Good afternoon." She said rather coolly, nodding lightly to the two males and fixing her hair out of habit. Feeling as if she had interrupted something, she smiled and looked to each one of them in turn, not sensing any danger really. Though one of them did seem most curiously familiar. That's right! She had seen him at the Hideout once, just briefly. He had a most interesting appearance, and did she dare think it? The male was quite attractive, if she did say so herself. Not that she would ever act on this thought, even if she were a more confident person - willing to ask men out first and such - she still wouldn't do anything. Eva wasn't fit for relationships after all.

Eyes a bit distracted and unfocused, she looked out the window and smiled before looking back at the two and straightening. She mustn't show that she didn't enjoy being in the presence of others, they might think of her as rude. Even so, she couldn't help but admit that she preferred to be in the presence of nature. Or even better, the stars.

"As a matter of fact, yeah, Them does have a hideout," I retorted, knowing he was lying. Then I looked up and saw the girl. "Ah, a Fallen partay!"

A girl of stunning beauty enters the room, and her sweet pale face is accented with dark rogue. 'Sup. I reply to her dainty 'good afternoon.' I smile at her, a charming toothpaste white grin. Whats a babe like yourself doin hanging around here? I ask her, my voice filled with flirtation.

Blinking some more and distracted from what the first male had said, Eva was seemingly taken aback from being called a babe and she looked at the pair like they were quite odd now. Eying them warily, she resisted the urge to back up a few steps and firmly held her ground. She wouldn't retreat just because someone she had just met decided to address her by a title that made her feel extremely uncomfortable. Avoiding their eyes, she twirled her finger around one of her dark curls absentmindedly and nibbled on her lower lip. Eva was aware of the fact that it was proper to look people in the eye when speaking to them, she did after all, know the rules of etiquette much better than anyone who was anywhere near her age, but it was just so awkward. Emotions ruled over whatever you knew was right and wrong. People denied it, as they often denied most things, but it was true.

"Someone like myself? Well, I am not entirely sure what I am doing here. Although I am sure that I must have had a purpose for coming a place such as this one, I seem to have forgotten it." She said, stretching her fingers before examining the two more closely. They looked powerful and she sensed a bit of danger around them, it didn't settle the fears stirring in her mind. Stumbling across people like these, it was typical Evangeline. "And yourselves?"

I flex my muscles. Just having a friendly chat. I tell her, glaring at Dev, thinking how really and truly unfriendly we were being. Did you go to some like, boarding school? I ask her curiously, thinking that it was not normal for her to be speaking like she was from New England or something.

I stare back at him in disgust. "You called her a babe?" I hiss, my voice softer than the whirring of the nearby fan. "Don't you know better than to call her a babe? She time traveled here from the Victorian Era." For one fleeting moment, we could relate to each other. He obviously had the hots for this girl. I had the hots for.....someone else. Stop thinking about her every second! The Them part of my mind screamed. Funny how it was getting easier and easier to ignore.

He flexed his muscles, which she had to admit, was quite pleasing to watch. Observing their exchange, although she couldn't hear them, in a less than amused way, Eva raised an eyebrow before gingerly taking one step back - it was a tiny step though, so they might think she was just trying to keep her balance. "A boarding school? No, I have gone to schools around here for all my past years of education." She said, wondering why he asked, hadn't he noticed her around the city before? People often asked her weird questions though, so she was used to it.

Brushing back her hair, Eva extended a hand - not really caring which one would shake it. Hey, there were two of them so if one didn't take it, the other might, right? "I am Evangeline Loretta Dumont, some prefer to call me Eva, as my first name - even by itself - is quite a mouthful."

I snatch her hand. Rocket. I tell her smiling. I turn and look at Devoid. I put my hands up, shake my head smiling, as if to say, okay okay, sorry. Victorian Era? I ask furrowing my brow.

"Whatever," I say, kicking my shoe against the floor like a little kid. I think about looking like a little kid and stop kicking, glancing between Rocket and this new girl, a star child, probably. Then I think about how I should probably be getting back, they would be angry if I was late. But did I care? I bit my tongue and tasted blood. I stared at the two others bitterly, swallowing. They had a family.

Looking down at her hand in the grasp of Rocket's own, the corner of Eva's mouth twitched as she struggled to keep her tone the same as usual. "Pleasure to meet you, Rocket." She said, raising her eyebrows at the other male but saying nothing. If he didn't want to say anything, he wouldn't have to say anything - Eva wouldn't force information out of him if he was unwilling to part with it. Behold, why she could never be an interrogator.

Sensing the bitterness in his gaze, she frowned and looked at Rocket. "Have I done something which would have caused the other male to resent me?"

I roll my eyes, utterly bored. Then I make an exaggerated show of cupping my hands over my mouth in a very secretive way and in a very loud whisper saying, "He'll tell you later at your Hideout," just because I knew it would make Rocket freak out.

"You watch it," I shot back, returning his glare. "People you love are gonna start disappearing." I knew it was mean to threaten him again, but he seemed to think he was King of the Earth.

Watching their exchange with raised eyebrows, Eva's blue eyes widened as she heard threats being shot from left to right. Her posture stiffened as she heard mentions of the hideout. "Is he one of Them?" She asked Rocket, voice barely audible.
